I was born in North London and after leaving school worked very briefly for a high street bank before joining the local library service. I was in my happy place surrounded by books and worked there for over twenty five years, the last fifteen or so in the Local History Archive. I’ve always been fascinated by social history, and studied for a History degree as an external student of London University. Later I studied for a Science degree with the Open University, choosing subjects my Arts background had ignored – biology, genetics, and criminology. A fantastic learning experience which gained me a 2:1 - in my forties!

After a stint at the turn of the Millenium at University College, London as a Personal Assistant to a professor, I moved to be an Administrator at Birkbeck College, London, working with post graduate science courses and supporting academics and research staff in the laboratories. I was lucky enough to do a creative writing course while I was there and was inspired to write a novel! I left work in 2010 to take on caring responsibilities and a year later moved with my husband to a rural village in West Norfolk, UK. I’ve been actively involved in the local community – helping save pubs seems to be a theme! -supporting a Local History project and an orchard and loving the country life!
I completed my first novel, Resurrection, in Lockdown and have started a second, continuing the life of Janet Brown. I enjoy the odd writing competition and spend a lot of time working in my garden, baking for village events, and playing table tennis with the village ladies team.
